Try the following options to improve page load speed in Google Chrome:

DNS resolution problem
Before moving on to browser-specific issues, the most general issue for slow page load is incorrect DNS resolution. If you frequently see a “Resolving host…” message in your browser’s status bar, switching to public DNS might help fix it.
Open the site in another browser like Firefox, IE or Safari and check the loading speed of the site. If it loads slow on all browsers, then the possible cause here could be DNS settings.

Over the period of time, many unnecessary history files will accumulate which will slow down the performance of the browser.

Clear browsing data in Chrome
Go to the » tab Advanced » and choose » All time » in the drop-down menu to clear the browsing history from the beginning of the browser installation. Click the button ” Delete data » to remove all browser files that may be causing slowness.
Note: You can also clear your browser history from the settings menu » More Tools > Clear Browsing Data… «. Also, you may experience slow loading of the page for the first time after the history is cleared due to cookie and CSS clearing.

Disable plugins (for Chrome version < 57)

Just like plug-ins, extensions are also additional applications installed on the browser. Open URL » chrome://extensions/ » to see the list of extensions and deactivate all of them.

Some firewall applications require the application to be authorized before sending and receiving over the network. So please check your app and make sure the Chrome app can pass through your firewall settings.
Enable network predictions
The network prediction service allows Chrome to preload linked pages on the web page. So when the page loads, all connected links will be automatically preloaded by Chrome.
