The ephemeral is still in fashion, and it had already taken a while to get another snapchat new version (or what remains of the original). Now even WhatsApp will have its function in the purest Instagram Stories style. WhatsApp States arrive with which you can share content with 24 hours duration.
Although WhatsApp already has over 1.2 billion users, was one of the Facebook applications that has had the least drastic changes. Has or the possibility of but retained its original meaning: send instant messaging.

Ephemeral states come to instant messaging
Just as you use instagram stories or, with WhatsApp Status you can edit and post photos, videos and GIFs using icons and texts. You can show this content to your contacts and control who sees your updates through the privacy options in the application.
WhatsApp statuses have already been officially releasedalthough they had been activated days ago due to an error in the application for mobile devices with the Android operating system, according to .
Thus, in its latest beta version, through a tweak (Operating system modification), users could enable this function before it was released and test its use.
How do WhatsApp Statuses work?
WhatsApp will show a new tab next to “calls” or “chats” called “state”. By clicking on it we can publish a small text along with a photograph or video. WhatsApp States will give you a choice between two options: that all contacts can see the new state, or that only selected contacts can see it. No one outside of your contact list will be able to see that message.
When sending the new Status, a screen very similar to the one that appears from a chat or a broadcast list will be displayed, and you will send it as if it were any other message. From there you can edit images or videos and send them.
When viewing the Status of a contact, at the top you will see a bar that will indicate how many images or videos the contact has shared and how long they last. Just like Instagram Stories, these messages will disappear after 24 hoursor sooner if you decide to remove them early.
When you send your status, you can see how many and who of your contacts have seen it. It is not yet known if it will have protection against screenshots or if they can be taken.
The possible way of advertising on WhatsApp
Despite being a new copy of Snapchat (and now Instagram Stories), WhatsApp statuses don’t look like their predecessors, since it is a much more closed environment by only being able to communicate with the contacts with whom we have shared the mobile phone number.
But of course the app could make use of advertising in it, Although at the moment it doesn’t seem to be like that, it wouldn’t be so difficult to think that they would finally somehow manage to monetize the most widely used instant messaging application.
