Lidl heats ‘Operation Bikini’ with a smart scale for 12.99 euros

There are still several months until summer, but those interested in getting in shape for beach and pool time who want to monitor their progress have an ideal complement in the new Lidl product.

The German firm has put up for sale a smart scale from Silvercrest for a competitive price of 12.99 euros. The device, which at the moment can only be purchased online, is sold as an option that goes beyond a regular scale and contains different extra functions to closely monitor our weight.

Thus, the scale has a special method of measuring body fat that allows to know both body weight and the amount of recommended daily calories, muscle and bone mass, and the percentage of fat and water in the body.

In addition, it has a memory for 12 users, six activity levels to calculate the recommended daily calories, auto-off, overload indicator and battery change, and a 6 mm safety glass platform.

This new Lidl product arrives at its online store after its ‘low cost’ predecessor, the bathroom scale with four sensors from Silvercrest, sold out after its release at just 7.99 euros.

The success of this model has invited the company to take another turn of the screw and find an extra gap in the market, taking advantage of the proximity of the good weather and the intentions of a percentage of consumers to get in shape for the date.
