A study from which the institution has drawn a classification with the best, although we already warned that there will be controversy because for everyone… the beers.
Classic, special or private label. Under these filters, the OCU has selected the beers that combine quality and flavor, as well as the taste most welcomed by the general public or the sale price, to devise a ranking with the ‘best’.
In addition, already in the summer, this classification is of great help for those who do not hide to try all kinds of beer. From well-known brands to some more hidden ones, but which undoubtedly leave a very good experience for all those who have taken them, this OCU studio is one of the most anticipated for good weather and to enjoy with family, friends or a partner.
classic
1. Original Amstel. With a score of 74 out of 100, the most common option from the Dutch company is this 33-cl can that costs between 0.45 and 0.57 euros, depending on the supermarket.
2. Classic Mahou. Also with a score of 74 out of 100, the most classic Madrileña (the green one) takes second place for a slightly higher average price than its competitor. From 0.51 euros to 0.59 euros you can enjoy this little Spanish delicacy in a 33 cl can.
3. Amstel Classic. Once again the Dutch company closes the podium with a score of 72 points. Even cheaper than its original sister, this beer can be found in Spanish supermarkets from 0.33 euros to 0.39 euros.
Classic white label
1. Cord Gard. Already fully in the supermarkets themselves, this variety from the Basque chain Eroski is the best valued for the OCU. With 60 points, the 33 centiliter can on its shelves costs 0.23 euros.
2. Traditional Aurum. To demonstrate its fervent commitment to good brewers, Eroski also has this variant that obtains up to 54 points. Its price, 0.26 euros.
3. Steinburg taste of South Pilsen. One of the ones that always has the best consideration is the Mercadona white brand. In this case, the southern Pilsen flavor variety obtains a score of 54 with a price per can of 0.27 euros.

1. Mahou 5 Stars Special. If ‘the green’ triumphed in classics, ‘the red’ does so in specials. Another triumph of the Madrid company that with 71 points takes the highest position in the OCU in this variety. Its price, depending on the supermarket, between 0.53 and 0.69 euros.
2. Keler Lager. Not so well known but also successful is the Lager from the Gipuzkoan brand. A classic that has come to less in all of Spain that remains among the highest with 69 points and a price between 0.57 and 0.63 euros.
3. Special Galician Star. Another of the most demanded is the special edition of the Galician. Also with a score of 69 out of 100, to cost between 0.65 and 0.75 euros.
Private label specials
1. Steinburg Special. As in the case of Mahou, Mercadona repeats on the two podiums where this time she places her 33 cl can with a rating of 66 points. On the shelves of the Valencian brand, the beer crowned by a star in the center costs 0.28 euros.
2. The Special English Cut. Direct from the brand of the Spanish department stores, this variety of beer costs 0.38 euros and has a rating of 63 points.
3. Special Day. The Madrid chain closes the podium with its most special variant for good brewers. In the OCU classification, the 33 cl can gets 59 points and costs 0.35 euros.
