In the fifth class of the advanced OBS course we are going to delve into scene nesting, one of the most important techniques when creating our collections.
This technique will allow us to have a more ordered set of scenes, multimedia sources, image, audio and capture elements. Likewise, we will greatly improve the performance of OBS Studio by being able, thanks to this way of building our scenes, to avoid duplicating sources that can cause us to waste resources unnecessarily.
We are going to build a series of nested scenes with which we will be able to have a collection of scenes with a multitude of sources, animations and captures in an optimal and orderly way. Let’s start!
Cool right? We have learned how we can use nested scenes to have much more order in our compositions.
Scene nesting is essential to be able to get the most out of OBS Studio without compromising its performance. We avoid the use of duplication of sources, excessive use of resources, and we can, through keyboard shortcuts or the use of StreamDeck or equivalent applications, activate and deactivate sources of any Scene.
We have seen how we can take advantage of this technique, being able to create animations, sounds and elements that we can make appear in any scene. This technique will make a lot more sense in the following classes when we learn how to automate some processes in OBS Studio.
As a task, we are going to create from scratch a collection of scenes, incorporating all the elements that we usually use: media sources, screenshot and image device, animations, alerts, etc. If we already have a collection of scenes that we usually use in our live performances or recordings, we are going to use this technique to redistribute all the resources and sources.
