How to request an appointment at the SEPE: what are the options

To request an appointment to be seen at the SEPE offices, there are two options: through the agency’s Electronic Headquarters or by calling 91 926 79 70, 24-hour service.

How to request an appointment at the SEPE in the Electronic Headquarters

To begin the process, the citizen must enter the website of the Electronic Headquarters, . You will have to choose the category ‘People’ and then click on the option ‘Make an appointment to be attended by SEPE’. When you do, you need to click ‘Start Request’.

1. Enter zip code

The first thing the citizen must do is enter their postal code. The SEPE explains that it must be “the postal code from which he is going to request, modify or cancel the appointment.” When you have entered your five digits you must click on ‘Continue’.

2. Choose the procedure you want to do in the SEPE

Next, the citizen must enter their DNI (eight figures and a letter) or NIE (letter, seven figures and a control code) and indicate the procedure to be carried out. When you choose the specific procedure or sub-procedure, you can have the option that the SEPE proposes not only to carry out that procedure, but also to accompany it with the registration as a job seeker (mandatory for the collection of benefits). At that time you must indicate if you also want to do this procedure in the same appointment or not.

3. Check which SEPE offices are available

5. Enter personal data

Next, the citizen must indicate all his personal data. At the top of this new screen, the details of the previous appointment will appear and then all the fields that must be filled in: name and surname, mobile phone number, email address, a section with comments in case you want to contribute any, a box to accept the SEPE privacy policy and a final security verification section. With everything completely filled in, click ‘Finish’.

6. Validate the appointment by SMS

As a final step, the system will send an SMS to your mobile phone with a code that you must enter on a new screen that will open the SEPE on the device from which you made the prior appointment. Filling in the gap with that code and clicking on ‘Continue’ will validate that prior appointment and confirm the procedure.

How to get an appointment at the SEPE by phone

If the citizen wishes to request an appointment by phone, they must call the new SEPE telephone number provided for this purpose, 91 926 79 70, with service 24 hours a day. You will be answered by an electronic recording that will ask you for different data that you can respond to by pressing the telephone keys.

First, the system will ask you if you want to request an appointment, cancel or modify an appointment. To request an appointment, the citizen must press the ‘1’ key.

Afterwards, the system will ask you to press ‘1’ if the citizen has a DNI or press ‘2’ if they have a NIE. Next, you must type the numbers of that DNI or NIE and the system will try to guess the letter of the document. If you are correct, you must press ‘1’ and if you fail, you must press ‘2’.

The next step is to type in the zip code numbers. The system will indicate which offices provide service, giving each of them a number. Citizens must click on the number of the office that best suits them and then press ‘1’ if they wish to apply for employment or ‘2’ if it is for benefits.

As a result of the option chosen, the citizen will have to choose between one of the procedures provided by the system by pressing the number assigned to him in the recording. Then you can choose the corresponding sub-process, always pressing the number that has announced the recording.

At that moment the recording can announce two different things:

-That there are appointments available, so that you can choose to carry out the procedure in that office by selecting one of the dates and times provided by the recording.

-There are no appointments available, so the recording will end the call urging you to try it the next day.

How to do SEPE procedures if you can’t get an appointment

If the citizen has difficulties obtaining an appointment by phone or at the SEPE Electronic Office, they should know that they have the possibility of carrying out a large number of procedures electronically and without having to go to one of the agency’s offices. These procedures can be done in two different ways:
