PSA inaugurates its plant in Kenitra (Morocco), with a capacity of 200,000 cars/year

He has started industrial activity at his new plant in Kenitra (Morocco), which will have a production capacity of 200,000 a year from the middle of next year, according to the company.

The automobile company explained that the 200,000 units per year that this center will be able to manufacture will go to 80 different markets and stressed that these models will comply with the international quality standards of the consortium.

The company’s executive vice president for the Middle East and Africa, Jean-Christophe Quémard, stressed that Morocco represents a “strategic and historic” market for the four brands in the consortium and noted that PSA is forging “a unique collaboration” in Morocco with the industry automotive.

The act to start manufacturing at this new production center was attended by King Mohammed VI and marks the introduction of the latest generation of the CMP platform, with the Peugeot 208 as the first model to be produced.

The new 208, in addition to Kenitra, will also be assembled in parallel at the Trnava factory (Slovakia). The group stressed that it is the only manufacturer in Africa that covers the entire value chain of vehicles.
