On the occasion of the premiere of the AVE between Madrid and Burgos, which will begin to circulate on the new Venta de Baños-Burgos High Speed Line (LAV) from next July 22, Renfe has put 100,000 tickets on sale connecting Madrid and Burgos from 18 euros.

The 100,000 basic tickets will be sold for 18 euros, while the Comfort tickets will be sold for 22 euros, regardless of origin and destination, on AVE and Alvia trains throughout their route, between Madrid and Burgos and the Basque Country.

The campaign will be valid from June 30 to July 6 for travel between July 22 and December 10, 2022.

Less time and more trains

The commissioning of this corridor will bring about an improvement in times, frequencies on AVE and Alvia and customer services. Travel time between Burgos and Madrid (with a stop only in Valladolid) will be reduced to one hour and 33 minutes on the AVE (45 minutes less).

Madrid-Burgos will go from 15 weekly frequencies per direction to 32 thanks to the new AVE and the splitting of the Alvia Bilbao/San Sebastián. This means that Burgos will now have three more frequencies from Monday to Friday and one more on Saturdays and Sundays.

It will also bring benefits for connections with the Basque Country, with a reduction in travel times of up to 38 minutes on the new Alvia services. Connecting Madrid with Bilbao in 4 hours and 28 minutes (before 5 hours and 6 minutes) or Madrid with San Sebastián in 4 hours and 48 minutes (before 5 hours and 23 minutes). Destinations such as Vitoria, Miranda, Tolosa, Irún or Llodio will also benefit from these new services and time reduction.
