What is the Google Partner Program?

Why a change in the Google Partner program?

With the creation of the Google Premier Partners program, the American giant decided to differentiate the Premier agencies within the Partner agencies. In other words, agencies that, even within the Partners program, had characteristics superior to the rest of the agencies in terms of billing and practices, and therefore these agencies were given a higher level of support.

It goes without saying that the agencies that remained as Google Partners without being Premier, literally fell into oblivion since Google took away much of the support they had.

What are the new requirements to be a Google Partner in 2020?

Account Performance:

What is considered account performance will change as of June 2020. Until now, it was considered income from your company’s customers and their loyalty. Starting in 2020, account performance will be taken into account based on the recommendations that Google offers you within each account and whether or not you apply them correctly.

Keep in mind that if you make a point of ignoring recommendations, they won’t count towards account performance. That is, you better not ignore them. If you decide not to apply them, you have to justify why.

In general, I see this change as very positive. As we already know, Google Ads optimization intelligence is increasing and therefore they want us to review all the recommendations that can help us grow accounts.

Investment in advertising:

Until June 2020, to be a Google Partner, having a monthly investment of $10,000 between your MCC accounts was enough. As of June 2020, the minimum monthly advertising investment will be 20,000 euros.

Certifications

Before June 2020, having a certified user was enough to comply with the part of . As of June 2020 you must have at least 50% of the users of your agency certified.
