The card game UNO will have a sequel called DOS

UNO, the iconic card game from Mattel, will receive a renewal next month in the form of a new game that, of course, will be called DOS.

DOS uses a game system similar to the original that was devised in Ohio (USA) almost fifty years ago, however, the main difference is that players will have two piles of cards in the center of the table to be the first to run out of color cards.

In each round, 7 cards will be dealt per participant, once the player gets rid of his hand, the round will end and it will be time to add the value of the cards of the rest of the players. The first to reach 200 points will win the game. Unlike UNO, DOS is designed for a maximum of 4 players, compared to up to 10 participants in the original. As in the original, you will also have to shout “dos” if you have two cards in your hand.

DOS will go on sale next March for $5.99 exclusively at the Target retailer, although it will begin arriving at other stores in August. Mattel wants to take advantage of the pull of UNO, whose sales have grown by 12% in the last year -according to what he explains to CNBC-, to make the card division a boost for the company’s accounts.

Since UNO passed to Mattel’s catalog in 1992, the company has released multiple themed editions with television characters, sports, countries or celebrities, special versions of larger board games, and has even been adapted on a recurring basis to PlayStation, Xbox , Game Boy, smartphones or social networks like Facebook.
