The 19th edition of the has exceeded expectations and has had a day full of activity both in corridors and stands. The closing of SIL 2017 will be tonight at 7:00 p.m. in Pavilion 8 of the Fira de Barcelona’s Montjuic-Plaza España venue.
In the SIL 2017 Conference, the different autonomous communities that participate in the Show have vindicated the logistical potential of Spainin addition to highlighting the importance of the sector for the Spanish economy, both for its contribution to making it more competitive and for its productive weight.
The great Night of Logistics celebrates the closing of SIL 2017
The 19th edition of the International Logistics and Maintenance Exhibition (SIL 2017) held last night at the “La Noche de la Logística” Station, the great gala dinner for the sector that was presided over by Soraya Saenz de Santamaria, Vice President of the Government of Spain and Minister of the Presidency and for Territorial Administrations.
During “The Night of Logistics”, which was sponsored by the Development Group (Adif, Aena, Puertos del Estado and Renfe), the SIL 2017 Awards ceremony that this year they have had a total of 33 finalists. In total, three categories were awarded: logistics efficiency and technological innovation, the greatest transformation of the supply chain and logistics sustainability.
The jury of the SIL Awards, formed by the Organizing Committee of the Exhibition, awarded the SIL Award for logistics efficiency and technological innovation to SEAT for its “SEAT Easy Smart Logistics” project and its continuous commitment to the implementation of innovative and intelligent solutions to boost logistics efficiency. The Logistics Director of SEAT, Enric Martiwas in charge of collecting the award.
For its part, the SIL Award for the greatest transformation of the supply chain awarded by the SIL Organizing Committee went to amazon for its commitment and the opening of its new logistics centers in Catalonia. Fred PatjeOperations Director of Amazon in Spain and Italy received the Award.
Lastly, the SIL Award for logistics sustainability went to Torres Cellars for its concern for the environment from production to delivery, with sustainability and ecology techniques in all its processes. The Director of Innovation and Knowledge of Bodegas Torres, Miriam Torres, picked up the award.
The eDelivery Barcelona Congress , both by level of attendees and by the quality of the sessions treated. The sessions have dealt with issues such as international cross-border trade, the challenge of delivery operations in eCommerce and omnichannel, logistics and eCommerce.
SIL becomes a meeting point for Mediterranean and Latin American logistics
The 6th Latin American Logistics and Transportation Summit has served to build bridges for logistics businesses between Latin America, Spain and the Mediterranean. In it, the impact of the fourth industrial revolution and the challenges of the industry 4.0 in the logistics and transport sector, nationally and internationally, and particularly in the maritime and port sector.
In addition, the European policy on the digitization in the field of maritime transport and the state of digital maturation of the logistics chain in Spain and Latin America was discussed.
The SIL ICIL Awards for Best Innovation

eDelivery Barcelona Awards for the Best Innovation of the Show
For its part, eDelivery Barcelona Expo & Congress also has held the first edition of the Award for Best Innovationthe jury made up of specialized journalists from the retail and eCommerce sectors have awarded the prize to Smartpak’s SaaS solutionwhich is focused on ultra-fast deliveries in 1 and 2 hours through its fleet of electric vehicles and more than 600 associated couriers throughout Spain.
