The importance of box 505 in the 2020-2021 Income and how you can get it

Making the Income Tax return is a process that requires paying close attention to numerous details, including the boxes. Several of them are key because they allow us to avail ourselves of deductions, declaration modalities… but there is one to consult, unlike the others, in advance.

This is box 505 of the 2019 return, which reflects the “General taxable base subject to tax”, which is extremely important because, in the data from last year’s return, it will help us access the draft, since with it we can get the reference number.

, with this box and the data it contains, you can access the Rent draft through the reference number through the RENO Service. The amount in this box is not the result of the declaration, only the amount to which the IRPF will be applied after passing the pertinent deductions and reductions.

In order to do the process well, the Tax Agency has made it available to taxpayers in which it is explained how to obtain the reference number with box 505 and thus access the Income draft to file the return.

How to get the reference number with box 505

The procedure is as follows: you must enter the Income page on the Tax Agency website and choose the option ‘Get your reference number’ and enter the DNI data (and validity date) or, failing that, the of the NIE (with the support number or date of birth if it begins with M, L or K), and click on ‘Accept’.

It will be at that moment when you must enter the data for box 505, right in the option ‘Get Reference with box 505’. The data must appear without signs, with the decimal separated by a decimal point. The agency explains that if you did not make the Income in 2019 or if the result of the declaration was zero, you must enter the last five digits of the IBAN of an account of which the taxpayer is the owner.

Then click ‘Get Reference’. This way you will have the reference number to access the draft. The Tax Agency contemplates the option that, in cases of suspected information leaks, the taxpayer has the option of using the reference number.

However, and file the declaration without using the reference number. It can be done electronically through Cl@ve PIN and by means of a digital certificate ().

In addition, since the beginning of May, the possibility of carrying out the meetings with a professional from the Tax Agency was enabled thanks to the ‘We Call You’ plan. To do this, you must make an appointment on the Tax Agency website (with a digital certificate, electronic DNI, Cl@ve PIN or reference number), on or by calling 901121224, 915357326, 901223344 or 915530071 from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 19 hours and until June 29.

Lastly, from this same Wednesday, the request for an appointment to make declarations at the offices of the Tax Agency opens, and from Wednesday, June 2, and with the access methods of the previous option.
