This investment closes months after the platform completed an operation of 1.5 million euros, and which was opened to its own users. Currently, Wuolah has 2.5 million registered students, 500,000 active users per month and more than 5 million documents uploaded.

Now, the goal of the startup is to create an entire training and education platform, a business model that can be replicated. “We want to transform the educational model that, unfortunately, is based on memorization and slows down the development of too many countries, professionals and citizens”, expressed the co-founder and CEO of the company, James Quintero. “We have started with the notes and the Wuolah of the future will have video courses, streaming classes… We see ourselves as the Twitch of education.”

The startup was founded in 2015 in Seville by Quintero together with Enrique Ruiz, Javier Ruiz and Francisco Jose Martinez Benitez, when they were still students. For now, they have had a starting point in sharing notes in universities and secondary education focused mainly on young people, but the idea is create an entire platform for training and technological education of a high level and quality.
