The retirement system for civil servants is different from that of the rest of Spanish citizens. State workers are governed by the Passive Class system, which provides for specific retirement or retirement pensions and which meet certain requirements.
This regime includes career civil servants and interns from the State Administration, Justice, General Courts or other bodies and transferred to the Autonomous Communities, as well as career military officers and former presidents, former vice presidents and former ministers of the Government and other positions. .
, all personnel included in the Passive Class regime may, provided they have contributed for at least 15 years, be entitled to a retirement pension, whether ordinary or extraordinary. As with other pensioners, they need to reach the mandatory retirement age: 66 years in general or 65 if they have worked for at least 37 years and three months. Amounts of civil servant pensions in 2021
All these categories, in short, are entitled to a State pension if they have contributed for that period of 15 years, but the pension will be different depending on each case. Two aspects must be taken into account: regulatory credit and years worked.
Regulatory credit is the equivalent of the regulatory base (distances aside) for officials. It is determined each year in the General State Budgets and is made up of the maximum pension that an official can access if he or she works the necessary number of years. There are different bases depending on the category of the worker. For 2021, , are as follows:
-A1 (graduates, diplomas and degrees with a higher level of responsibility): 42,563.68 euros per year and 3,040.26 euros per month in 14 payments.
-A2 (graduates, diplomas and degrees with a lower level of responsibility): 33,498.68 euros per year and 2,392.76 euros per month in 14 payments.
-B (Higher Technicians): 29,333.53 euros per year and 2,095.25 euros per month in 14 payments.
-C1 (Bachelor or Technicians): 25,727.56 euros per year and 1,837.68 euros per month in 14 payments.
-C2 (Compulsory Secondary Education): 20,354.76 euros per year and 1,453.91 euros per month in 14 payments.
-E (Professional Groups): 17,354.06 euros per year and 1,239.57 euros per month in 14 payments.
A percentage must be applied to these amounts for each year worked, so that with the minimum (15 years) you will have a pension of 26.92% of the regulatory salary and you will have the full pension when you have worked 35 years or more in the administration.
