One of the main complaints of citizens in their relationship with the State Public Employment Service (SEPE) is the difficulty in obtaining an appointment in advance in order to carry out different procedures in person at one of the agency’s offices, which is sometimes urgent when it comes to applying for unemployment benefits.
Although the SEPE has been working in recent months to reduce the problems (in fact it has and has changed its telephone number), the complaints still persist and it is for this reason that the citizen has to pay special attention to an alternative that can be useful in some cases: the pre-application form available on their website.
Through its , the agency has explained that this is a valid option for procedures related to unemployment benefits, both to request them and to communicate personal changes during their collection or even to manage their completion.
The main advantage of the pre-application form is that it does not oblige the citizen to have a digital certificate (), electronic DNI or Cl@ve (), methods that sometimes the workers do not obtain and close the door to carrying out procedures in the SEPE Electronic Headquarters with this access.
Yes, they will be able to access the pre-application form from that Electronic Headquarters, and which, according to the SEPE, is intended for people “who do not have an electronic DNI, digital certificate or Cl@ve” and need to carry out a procedure related to a unemployment benefit.
What procedures can be done with the pre-application form
At the time of accessing the form there are two options for the citizen, who must enter their DNI or NIE and choose one of these two:
-Individual benefit request: in this category the citizen has the option of requesting their contributory unemployment benefit (unemployment), an unemployment subsidy (as well as its resumption or extension), requesting the compatibility of the benefit with a job to part-time or as an employee and the presentation of the Annual Income Statement, essential to continue receiving the subsidy for people over 52 years of age.
-Low benefit: as its name suggests, it is to ask the SEPE to cancel the collection of your unemployment benefit, indicating whether it is for finding a job on your own or for someone else, due to medical leave or temporary disability, for maternity or paternity, for leaving Spain or for changes in disposable income or family responsibilities.
How to fill out the SEPE pre-application form
Once the desired procedure (application or withdrawal) has been chosen and the DNI has been added, the system will take you to a new screen in which you will have the corresponding sub-process from among those mentioned in previous paragraphs. Then you will have to enter all the personal data that is required:
-DNI or NIE and its expiration date.
-Name and surname.
– Name of the father and mother.
-Bank direct debit details.
-Contact details (address, email, phone number…).
-Data of the spouse or other parent if there are children in common.
-Children who live in the family unit with a disability of at least 33%.
After the field of personal data there is a section for comments in which the citizen who carries out the management can write (or not) what he pleases. You must then respond to the security check and finally click ‘Submit Request’.
The SEPE explains that, if it deems it convenient, it can request extra documentation from the citizen afterwards. It also informs that, with all the data, it will issue a final resolution.
