It should be noted that it is not a one-off tool, published to mitigate the one-off effects of the economic situation, but has been in operation for several years. Therefore, its use can be extended and normalized beyond this period of recession.

Filters, order and mobile App

The map allows filtering by provinces and localities, by type of fuel or by type of service (self-service, with dependents or unattended).

In addition, other variants can be included, such as the inclusion of discount plans or the opening hours of the establishment. Its results, once obtained, can be ordered by various criteria, although the most useful is to do it by ‘Price’.

This Wednesday, for example, when introducing the variables ‘Service stations’, in the province of ‘Huesca’ and the type of fuel ‘gasoline E95 E5’, we can see that the cheapest point is in the town of Binaced, with a price of 1,517 euros per liter.

In order to facilitate this search and make it a daily occurrence, the system created by MITECO contemplates that the Geoportal can be visited from the mobile phone, adapting its view to the smartphone screen. In addition, it makes the mobile application available to drivers, which is fed directly from the Geoportal data and minimizes the use of data and loading times.
