This is what you have to contribute to collect a retirement pension and the amount you have left

Retirement, no matter how far away it may sound in some cases, always generates a series of doubts, a good part of which point to the same thing: how many years do I need to work to receive a pension? How much do I have to contribute to have a sufficient pension?

The key lies in what , the body to which you must go in cases of doubt in these matters, since it is in charge of managing access to retirement pensions (and other types). For this, the previous quoted period must be taken into account.

Thus, you must prove a contribution of 15 years (and work two of the last 15) to be able to access a pension, which will be 50% of the regulatory base or if in the first case the amount is less than the determined due to the revaluation of pensions at the beginning of April.

At this point, it must be remembered that the regulatory base is a scale that increases every year and that in 2021 it is made up of the sum of the contribution bases of the last 24 years divided by 336. The different percentages to which one is entitled according to the years worked to establish the final amount of the pension.

Thus, from those 15 years of contributions with which we ensure the minimum contributory pension or 50% of the regulatory base, we can add extra percentages of the regulatory base as we work more months.

Social Security establishes that during each of the first 106 months after those 15 years, the worker earns the right to an extra 0.21% of the regulatory base. If he continues working, during each of the following 146 months he will earn 0.19% of the regulatory base.

Based on this calculation, the worker must calculate how many months he has worked and add those percentages to find out what portion of the regulatory base he will have as the amount of the pension. To have access to 100% of the regulatory base, 36 years of contributions are currently required.

Of course, just as there is a limit in terms of minimum pensions, there is also one, which for 2021 is 2,707.49 euros per month and 37,904.86 euros per year.
