What are the best chocolates on the market? The OCU compares nine of these chocolates

Precisely because any occasion is good to celebrate with a sweet chocolate, the Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU) have made a brief comparison of these brown delicacies that in some cases contain less than 50 kcal.

Are you looking for the best chocolate? After selecting nine common chocolates that we can find in many supermarkets, expert tasters have assessed their appearance, composition, taste… and the calories they provide.

They all come out okay, but…

The best valued by tasters have been various classic products, well known to all: Ferrero Rocher, Mon Chéri de Ferrero, Red Box by Nestlé, Milka Praliné, Lindor or Guylian pralines.

Among those that provide fewer calories are Milka Praliné, After Eight and Mon Chéri, which do not reach 50 kcal per chocolate: a treat that you can afford… at least one day.

Chocolates: which one do you like best?

Milk chocolate, with praline, with fillings, with nuts… they are all very rich, but excellence is a matter, above all, of balance: between the different textures or shades of the different types of chocolate.

After Eight. Their caloric intake is 36 kcal and they are priced at 4.3 euros per 300 g and they define it as sophisticated, bright and light. As a downside, the OCU tasters believe that a lower percentage of filling would improve the balance in the tasting.

Nestlé Red Box. Their caloric intake is 50 kcal per chocolate and they are priced at 4.9 euros per 200 g. It is a varied assortment, with a combination of crunchy and creamy and smooth chocolate.
