Tangi is a new website and mobile app made by Area 120, a section of Google dedicated to creating experimental products. And since it has all the cards to succeed, We explain what Tangi is and what it consists of.

What exactly is Tangi?
Is a new social network of short videos focused on learning and “do it yourself”.
At Tangi, you can see how other people do creative things (from crafts, to cooking, to art in general and much more) and you can try to do them yourself.
In fact, Tangi isn’t just about teaching you cool things. He also wants you to try them and upload a video yourself of how you did it and how it turned out, encouraging participation and comments.
Imagine Tangi as a kind of Tik Tok focused on you learning new thingslike making a dessert or building something useful.
Where can I access or download Tangi?
At the moment, Tangi is only available as an app for iPhone and iPad. It is to be hoped that, being something made by Google, we will see a version for Android very soon.
In the meantime, if the concept has made you curious, you can access and register in this new social network .
How does Tangi work?
It is very simple. On the same page you can search for the topic that interests you and it will show you short videos of projects related to that topic. Please note that, for now, the platform only speaks Englishso those searches will have to be in Shakespeare’s language if you want to find anything.
These videos are, at most, 60 seconds. In this way, creators have to be inventive to show how to do things in a simple and fast way. This also encourages you to watch more videos since they are so short (look at the success of Tik Tok) and to do the projects to see if they turn out the same, something that the platform encourages you to do.
Signing up is very simple, and you do it in one click with your Google account, clicking on the top right, where the person icon is.
Right next to it, the bell icon will notify you if you have new messages and interactions because you have uploaded a video and they have commented on it, or they have responded to something you have commented on.
If you access a video, you can watch it, read the description on the right side or add a comment just below it. In the same way, you can read people’s comments and interact, as in the rest of social networks.
Besides, You can see related videos by clicking on the “More like this” button or use the tags of each video to go to similar ones.
As you can see, just another social network, very similar to Tik Tok in the focus on short videos, but always dedicated to learning.
