YouTube course #7. Playlists – .com

In the seventh class of the YouTube course we are going to see how playlists work and what they can contribute to our content strategy.

Having playlists on your channel is necessary in order to be able to retain users with a longer playback time of your videos. In this way, if the user who reaches the playlist continues to consume the videos that follow them, your playback hours will increase exponentially.

You already know that the main factor to take into account when it comes to positioning YouTube is the hours of playback. Let’s go for them!

In this module we have known different tips to get the most out of your playlists and how to use them to link videos that are under the same theme.

It is also important to get the most out of the hook model in the playlists, getting the audience to consume one after the other following the storyline that you propose. But yes, we must be clear that playback time is key for our channel. This is why proposing playlists in which the content is phased in different videos can give us many benefits from the SEO point of view.

We have also seen in a small tour how to create playlists, as well as manage and edit them. But be careful, remember that you always have to define a strategy before reaching this point, no matter how easy it may seem to create them.

And this is why we need to define the organization of our channel. In this module we propose 3 levels of organization: General theme of the channel, communication territories within that theme and playlists within those communication territories.

As we have seen, these playlists can attack very specific content, as long as we generate value and entertain our audience with those playlists. If we have extensive knowledge about something in particular, the best way to get the most out of it is to create a playlist, instead of creating a long video (+20 minutes). And this has been all within module 8 of playlists.

As always, if you have any doubt or question, you can send it through the support form of the subscriber intranet. See you in the next lesson! 🙂
