348. Philosophical questions about online marketing – .com

Good morning everyone and welcome to Marketing Online, the podcast in which every day we talk about the exciting subject of digital marketing for 20 minutes that sometimes become 30.

Today we answer questions from the audience about eCommerces, Genesis, videos, monetization and even comparison aggregators.

As always, we start with the questions:

1. I have a question, can genesis be used with woocommerce? It is advisable? Because I have read that there is a problem, if so, what theme would you recommend to use with woocommerce and that it can be customized a lot (plugin) Once again, thank you very much for your help and many more successes. (Vladimir. Miami)

2. I am writing you a very brief question about Facebook ads: is it possible to create an audience based on fans of other pages? Other pages that we are not the owners of (come on, the competition). That is, if my sector is beer, can I make an ad to show it only to Heineken fans? I was looking at the videos of the Facebook ads course and I think you name something like that, but I don’t know if it’s possible. (Flavius)

3. What do you think about enabling or not commenting on a blog with a theme similar to yours? (Barbara)

4. In relation to the last one I heard, the 104 about Edgerank from Facebook, I see that it is very difficult to have visibility unless you share funny videos, photos of dogs or that type of viral thing. But come on, we who have almost 500 followers, if I share a service or promotion, 80 people will see it and since it is not viral content, it is very difficult for it to be shared, let alone for all our followers to know about this service through Facebook. . (Jesus, Ciudad Real)

5. I’m dying to find a good free program that transcribes audio to text. The best ones I have found is https://dictation.io/ and record with whatsapp and then send us the conversations by email. Do you know any? (Victor)

6. I don’t know if you will remember that I told you about a business idea that involved making videos. I’m giving it a spin because I can’t square it well and I have a question. I want to do it finally as a course. Imagine that it was a paid guitar course and that it has different sections: basic tricks. Guitar general. First songs… And that within each section there are several videos that I want to order by difficulty. With this structure in mind, do you think it would be better to create an on demand channel on vimeo or do it with sensei or wordpress? I think that the aspect of vimeo thumbnails would be great for the visualization of the course to be correct, I don’t know if you can have a similar template with sensei. On the other hand, I don’t know if I would lose more money doing it with Vimeo because of the percentage they keep and for hiring the pro account, in return for how easy it can be with respect to sensei… I don’t know if I understand myself, I hope Yes, because I don’t want to drive you crazy. I would like it to be easy to manage but I don’t want to give the money to vimeo either. Well, if you can advise me to see if you send me a little light! (George, Madrid)

7. In my e-commerce I want to eliminate the possibility of serving the Canary Islands, the Balearic Islands, Ceuta and Melilla. I have found the file where the provinces of Spain appear (woocommerce>i18n>states>es.php) and I have commented the lines of those provinces. The fact is that when updating woocommerce these changes disappear. I have tried to put this file in the woocommerce directory of my theme (Jessica from Genesis) but I can’t find the way. Can be done? (Eduardo, Zaragoza)

8. Let’s imagine that I have an online e-commerce and I’m doing my orders, shipments and invoices but, at the same time, I also have a local copy to make improvements and test the updates. How can I avoid losing invoices, orders, customers… etc when I upload my local site after making changes? (Eduardo, Zaragoza)

9. What profile do you have? You know a lot about marketing but also about programming! Where is that studied? (Clara, Barcelona)

10. The first point is about chapter 99 of the podcast in which you talked about aggregators, I am very interested in that point, since I understand a lot about a field (board games), I have found several price comparison aggregators on board games. table, but in my opinion they lack several fundamental elements that I see necessary for this theme (opinion and evaluation of the game by users, user profile, store or ecommerce evaluation, etc.), they are totally focused on offering prices and some reviews, but I think they lack the opinion part from the target audience. As we all know or should know, people highly value the opinions of other users and are sometimes decisive when buying a product. The question: It is possible with a wordpress to make a price aggregator (I suppose so), what plugins are needed? Is this type of business interesting? What do you recommend me?. About wordpress installation and use at the user level is not a problem for me, but depending on what aspects I prefer to get advice from experts like you, in fact lately I am carrying out tests on the test server (forgive the redundancy) in cdmon (installation, tests of plugins, themes, etc…) (Antonio, Barcelona)
