The cloud and its effects on the world of work

The cloud paradigm generates great changes in the way we work today.

The physical office is no longer always the workplace. Now it is possible to work in any space and at any time.

The schedule from 9 to 18 became obsolete; work is less and less associated with the schedule and more and more linked to the objective to be met. There is talk of “leisure bubbles” because leisure and business intermingle.

There are different layers layers in the cloud:

• Software-as-a-Service (“software as a service” or SaaS): It is characterized by being an application offered as a service. The best known example is o Gmail for work, which offers basic business services such as email. • Platform-as-a-Service (“platform as a service” or PaaS): it exists because a software as a service requires functionalities such as an operating system, databases, etc.
• Infrastructure-as-a-Service (“infrastructure as a service” or IaaS): it is found in the lower layer and is the set of physical media such as servers, storage systems, connections, etc.
