AdWords campaigns only for iPhones – .com

A couple of weeks ago, AdWords added Advanced Mobile Carrier and Device Targeting Options under “Networks and Devices.”

Let’s see how the option looks in this screenshot:

Thanks to these advanced options, we can now choose between the following devices:

  • Android
  • iPhone/iPod Touch
  • Palm webOS
  • iPad

As for telephone operators, you can choose the following:

  • Orange
  • telephone
  • vodafone
  • Yoigo

This is very, very good, especially in some cases in which your product may be related to one of these variables. Let’s imagine that you want to promote an iPhone application, or some iPad cases. Obviously, you are not going to publish the ad on Android devices, or for BlackBerry lovers.

Or if you are a telephone store and you want to promote portability to Orange, for example, you can filter so that users who are already from that company do not appear. The same for the case of products linked to the operator.

It is worth noting that the iPad has been included, which despite being a tablet, is also considered a mobile device. All stores and businesses that work with Apple products can take full advantage of these new options.

Of course, let’s remember that if we create a campaign only for this type of device, we must make sure it doesn’t cannibalize with the other campaigns in the account, since they may have similar keywords, especially in the content network. In other words, if necessary, when creating a campaign for mobile devices, perhaps we should remove that option from the campaign that we already had (if it was enabled)to leave it only for desktop computers.
