BBVA’s virtual assistant debuts on WhatsApp to solve financial queries

BBVA has launched a version of its Blue virtual assistant adapted to WhatsApp, which will allow customers in Spain to resolve financial questions and check movements in their accounts through this social messaging network, as reported on Thursday.

Users only need to add the number 670404242 to their contact list of the WhatsApp application in its mobile or PC version and start a voice or text conversation to answer questions or make financial inquiries.

When the customer contacts, Blue, thanks to artificial intelligence, will give an immediate response. The bank has ensured that requests for information take place in a secure environment, since whenever the customer makes any query related to their personal finances, they will have to log in from their private BBVA area.

Blue also offers safety tips through WhatsApp to encourage safe habits. Before making any query, the assistant verifies that it is with BBVA that the customer is contacting, informs that the bank will never request a password through the WhatsApp chat, as well as that it will never contact customers through this channel.

Launch on WhatsApp

BBVA has had its Blue virtual assistant for years, but recently incorporated it into its application to expand the information on which the customer can make inquiries. Now it goes a step further by allowing its customers to make all kinds of queries through WhatsApp.

The person in charge of Blue at BBVA in Spain, Eliseo Catalán, pointed out that WhatsApp is one of the most widespread and used social networks in Spain, which is why BBVA wanted to incorporate into it a tool to help manage their day-to-day activities . “With Blue, customers will be able to solve all kinds of doubts, since the assistant is supported by the 800 functionalities and services that the entity already offers through the application”, he explained.
