Back in the spring and hot month of May last year we told you about the to try to monetize the accommodation needs of last minute travellers. A project based on a new version of its mobile application, in which one of its three main sections was dedicated to showing the accommodation possibilities that were available for that same nightin a direct way and a click away. Now, a few months late, is the one who launches for last minute reservations

Booking Now: A new mobile app for impulsive travelers

Actually, the new app, Book Now, it is not as immediate as the Airbnb proposalsince it marks as a limit for the reserve the 48 hours prior to arrival at the hotel, but it is much more concrete. With this app, available only for iOS operating systems, Booking tries to offer the traveler different options for your accommodationbased on his behavior and preferences, previously designated by himself

As you can see in the presentation video, the application of Book Now seems to be tailor made for impulsive/desperate travellers. Great importance of maps and proposals closest to the user’s location, the precise and necessary information to make a quick decision, a very visual design…

In reality, the appearance of Booking Now is just one more example of the dynamism and hyper-competitiveness of the online hotel sector. A sector dominated by some large groups, but in which new proposals more adapted to the real needs of travelers appear every day. In fact, this week we learned about the two new bets of : two mobile applications that try to take advantage of the immediacy and the growing use of the smartphone to establish its position in the sector.
