11/11/16: Redcoon closes its online store forever

Chronicle of an eDeath foretold: Redcoon announces its closure and goes into liquidation
On October 7, the website, referring to an email revealed by Hardware.info, reported that the German holding company to which Redcoon belongs, Media Saturn, had decided close this online store in Spain and in several European countries. So, Half Saturn would close Redcoon in countries like Spain, Portugal, and Austria and it is likely that it will also do so in the rest of the European countries in which the web is active.
In fact, the Spanish website entered with a huge number of offers that showed that the end of the web for spicy prices was very close.
Redcoon was part of the Media Saturn-Grupo Metro group, owner of Media Markt and the Saturn chainso the strategy to cancel Redcoon’s services seems to seek prevent cannibalization between its brands, especially with Media Markt, which is placing great emphasis on growing online sales.

In a phased closure, the Redcoon Belgium and Netherlands online stores stopped working on 10/27. As you can see in the image, the company itself redirects its former customers to MediaMarkt:

The coexistence of Redcoon within the environment of the Metro Group (Media Saturn) has lasted five years since its acquisition in 2011. During that time she has lived with the rest of electronics retail chains and consumer products but, without having Redcoon sales data on the group’s website, which nevertheless put the user data at 500 million, it seems clear that its “sisters” dominate the market.
