Christian Louboutin: a story full of successes

The famous shoe designer Christian Louboutin is a self-made man with his own brand. With very clear ideas, his life has always revolved around shoe design, something that has always been fascinating to him. His iconic red-soled shoes have given him a number of awards throughout the world.

Christian Louboutin was born in Paris in 1964. From a very young age he began to stand out as a cartoonist, which has been very helpful for his future as a shoe designer. His extreme taste for shoes and love for dancing and the Parisian night led him to become the official designer of the Paris Music-Hall. Louboutin was in charge of creating all the shoes that the dancers later wore on stage.

Obviously, his creations won a resounding success among the members of the Music-Hall, which made Louboutin consider creating his own brand and launching a store with his designs. This is how he began to carry out some commissions as a freelance designer for the most prestigious fashion brands in the world. The Parisian designer created the shoe collections to fit the models in the parades of Chanel, Chloé, Givenchy or Yves Saint Laurent, among others.

With all this overflowing success behind him, in 1991 he opened his first store in Paris, specifically in Passage Véro-Dodat. Among his regular clientele were the ladies of Parisian high society and extremely well-known faces such as Catherine Deneuve or Caroline of Monaco.

Despite all this, his hallmark will not arrive until 1992, when he begins to use red Louboutin on each of the soles of his prestigious shoes. Thus, she turns each of her designs into unique pieces that many of the world’s fashionistas dream of. Her red soles have led her to go through different lawsuits on a number of occasions, but they have also catapulted each of her designs to become perfect fashion icons. In this sense, a few years ago, Christian Louboutin sued the fashion firm Yves Saint Laurent for wearing shoes with red soles in one of its parades.

In 1993, the designer opened his first store in New York and from that moment on, his success in the world was unstoppable. In fact, according to what has been published in different media, his New York store invoices around 4.5 million euros per year.

The most distinctive thing about Louboutin shoes, in addition to their peculiar red soles, are their incredible heels, which can reach 16 centimeters. In addition, the Parisian designer has to his credit the creation of the Lynch Ballerina, which has the highest heel in the world for a shoe of this type.

Today the luxury shoe brand has begun to branch out and has launched some small collections of beauty products, under the Louboutin Beaute label. Specifically, in 2014 its first collection of nail polishes was released, among which the fantastic red ones stand out. And a few months ago his beauty line continued with the creation of the most luxurious lipsticks imaginable.
