Coronita is no longer Coronita: finally abandon the diminutive in Spain

The manufacturer AB Inbev will finally be able to market in Spain what is perhaps the best-known Mexican beer in the world: Coronita. Or rather, Corona, which is how it is sold in the rest of the planet.

Until now, they have tried to avoid the conflict of names with the Catalan group Torres, which sells one of its references under the name of Corona. But the spirits giant wants to catapult this mild-tasting beer into top sales, it has confirmed to multiple media outlets.

The brand change will take effect from June, which will allow what calls itself “the finest beer” to land in beach bars with the heat and its more international name.

For the time being, the renamed Corona will continue to be 100% imported, as are other AB Inbev beer references such as the Belgian Leffe or the German Franziskaner, as reported by El Confidencial.
