Diada: they play the Spanish anthem from a balcony while Torra makes the offering to Casanova

The Spanish anthem has sounded from the balcony of a hotel in Barcelona near the Rafael Casanova monument, where at that time the president of the Generalitat, Quim Torra, headed the traditional floral offering of the Government on the occasion of the Diada.

Around 9:00 am, the Government made an offering to the monument and, while the Catalan anthem, ‘Els Segadors’ was playing, from a hotel balcony, the Spanish anthem began to play at high volume.

The hotel is located at the intersection of Bailén street with Ali Bei, about 100 meters from the statue, so the Spanish anthem was heard for a few minutes from where Torra and the rest of the Catalan Executive were.

The Mossos d’Esquadra have identified two people for playing the anthem. According to sources from the Catalan police, they have been identified for alteration of an authorized event, and to prevent them from causing another incident, although they have not been arrested or denounced.
