Google denies there is a connection between the fire at its Iowa data center and Tuesday’s outage – Marketing 4 Ecommerce – Your online marketing magazine for e-commerce

“There was no blackout due to the Iowa incident. (…)

We are aware of a software update issue that occurred late afternoon Pacific Time that briefly affected the availability of Google Search and Maps, and we apologize for the inconvenience. We are working to address the issue quickly and our services are now back online (…)

The outage was the result of an internal error«.

How was the interruption of the Google service

Netizens pointed out that the platform had web indexing issues, including search results out of the index and with incorrect dates.

During the fall, users reported that when trying to perform any search, the Google portal threw the following warning: “Server error. Sorry, but it seems that an internal server error has occurred when processing the request. Our engineers have been notified and are working to resolve the issue. try again later”.

Around 40,000 reports on Downdetector reported on the tech giant’s downfall

The fall was mainly detected in Mexico and the United States in addition to other 40 countries such as Argentina, Taiwan and Japan.
