How to retire at 15: Pixie Curtis, the girl who already owns two successful companies

Pixie Curtis is a 10-year-old Australian girl who, despite her young age, already owns two successful companies: Pixie’s Fidgets, a toy firm; and Pixie’s Bows, a brand of hair accessories. According to her mother, also a businesswoman, her daughter could retire at 15 if she wanted.

Pixie’s Fidgets launched in May of last year with the help of Pixie’s mom, Roxy Jacenko, and the brand was so successful that the toys sold out within the first 48 hours. In its first month, the company had a turnover of 200,000 Australian dollars (about 143,000 US dollars), according to information from

Both Pixie’s Fidgets and Pixie’s Bows, a company founded by her mother and named after her daughter when she was just a baby, belong to , an organization that, in addition to what was created by the minor, sells other toys, clothing and accessories for children, always with the Pixie stamp of approval.

For her mother, what excites her most about her daughter is her “entrepreneurial spirit” at such a young age, a characteristic that, according to her, she never had. “When I was 14 years old I got a job at McDonald’s because that’s what you did in my day. So I guess the most important thing for me is her drive as an entrepreneur,” Jacenko said.

All of this has given Pixie a huge following on social media, amassing over 100,000 on Instagram. Despite her success, her mother doesn’t want Pixie to feel obligated to work for the company. “The moment she doesn’t want to be up front, then we’ll think about it. But for now, she’s happy, learning a lot,” she stressed.
