Illustrator Course #3: Tools – .com

In this lesson we will discover one by one the tools that the Adobe Illustrator toolbar contains and its particularities.

We will detect those that are essential and we will reinforce our knowledge and understanding of vector shapes with their shape and fill, they will be essential to achieve the graphic creations that we want to achieve.

3.1 – Key Tools in Illustrator

The first is the selection, one with the black pointer and the other with the white one. The first will help us to select the shapes and the second to select specific anchor points to be able to modify the shapes freely.

We will also see the philosopher’s stone of Adobe Illustrator, the feather! It will help us to create free forms, we will see how it works and we will propose a first exercise so that you get the hang of it.

We will finish with the text tool, we will see how to create it, how to convert it into a stroke and finally, how to modify it. Let us begin!

As you can see, tools are an essential part of Illustrator. Without them, and we still have many to discover, we will not be able to create our designs, it is important to practice again and again with the pen and selection to be able to move freely through the Adobe environment.

3.2 – Featured tools in illustrator

In this second part we will see many key tools of which we highlight the creation of predefined shapes, lines, zoom and the hand to move around our document, which we can also activate whenever we want using the space bar.

So, although not all the tools are essential, we will see that the pen, the selection tools or the creation of shapes, will be essential to make our designs.

Do not worry because during the classes we will go over them and with real exercises. In the next lesson we will see how in addition to knowing the different tools, we can better understand the shapes and make them interact with each other in different ways.
