Find all products in a single marketplace: the convenience of Amazon

After launching its own line of over-the-counter medications in 2019, this is the biggest boost that Amazon has given to its health business, one that will undoubtedly open new opportunities for the company, especially before the pandemic that has forced consumers to seek remote care and use more online channels to meet all your shopping needs.

Let us remember that in the case of the US, for some consumers, buying food and medicine goes hand in hand: for decades many pharmacies have become stores that offer food and personal care products, while large supermarkets have pharmacy counters.

Amazon’s ambitious plan is to offer everything in one: the place to remotely acquire basic necessities, fresh food and a pharmacy with over-the-counter medicines, but also prescription ones. A great option for consumers who will be able to completely replace their purchasing needs using a single channel: the Amazon marketplace.

For now Amazon Pharmacy is only available in the United StatesHowever, its online pharmacy service is expected to expand globally soon. In the case of Spain, let us remember that the online sale of medicines that require a prescription is not allowed (for now).
