This is the artificial meat business in which Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates invest

Meat of non-animal origin is not only a business that is aimed at vegetarians or vegans, but also aims to be a healthier alternative for carnivores but, above all, more respectful with the environment. Thus, big businessmen and philanthropists such as Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos or Al Gore are investing in companies that produce artificial meat. This is the case of Nature’s Fynd, which produces protein using a fraction of the land and water resources required by traditional agriculture.

“In these challenging times, securing food for our growing population under the immense pressure of climate change becomes even more urgent,” said CEO and Co-Founder Thomas Jonas. “We must find new solutions that can both nourish people and the planet. Our innovative technology was developed by studying nature’s own solutions to adapt and ultimately thrive in resource-constrained environments,” he adds.

This American food technology company produces a one-of-a-kind nutritional mushroom protein, Fy, which is derived from a natural microbe with origins in Yellowstone National Park. It began producing and marketing its products last year after raising $80 million in a round of financing. Currently, it has a 3,200-square-meter manufacturing facility in Chicago and markets food and beverage products for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.

The food provided by this company contains all 9 essential amino acids needed by humans, making it one of the rare non-animal sources of protein. It also includes dietary fiber, calcium and vitamins. It is very versatile and can be made into alternative meat and dairy products, as well as protein drinks and powders.

The finding of this microbe arose from NASA-supported research into organisms that thrive in the extreme environmental conditions of geothermal springs in Yellowstone National Park. Those springs are part of one of the largest active volcanoes in the world.

One of the company’s latest releases has been a breakfast package, including original dairy-free cream cheese and meat-free burgers. At the moment, it’s a small sampler that will be released more widely later this year. Limited Launch Bundles are available for $14.99 plus shipping.
