The Spanish Trucksters has confirmed an injection of eight million euros of financing, which corresponds to an extension of the investment round closed in the summer of 2021. In this way, Trucksters closes the round for a total of 14.3 million euros. A constantly growing startup

The truth is Trucksters is in a very good moment, after having closed 2021 with a turnover of more than 5 million euroswhat represents an increase of 300% with respect to 2020. In this way, the technological transport company based on truck relays sets its sights on continuing its expansion through other horizons in this 2022.

In addition to this, the turnover of Trucksters continues to increase considerably each month, thus ending last December with more than 950,000 euros in sales. These positive data make the company’s projections for 2022 quite optimistic, as they expect to end 2022 with a turnover of 30 million euros (+500%).

What is Trucksters?

Trucksters was founded in mid-2018 in Madrid by Luis Bardaji Izard, Gabor Balog Y Ramon Castro Neira from an idea that emerged during a trip of the three founders to Berlin, where they met in a service station full of trucks. Since then the company has been growing steadily, taking advantage of a variety of growth programs for startups.

Towards the end of 2018, the project had been accepted in the pre-seed program of APX, a venture capital company specialized in early stages. Relay transport, a cheaper and more sustainable alternative

The Trucksters business model is based on the transport of full load merchandise using a truck relay format. In other words, instead of a driver making the entire route, there are relay points on the route where the merchandise changes from one truck to another to continue without major breaks. In this way, Trucksters affirms that they manage to reduce the delivery time by almost half, in addition to offering drivers better working and living conditions.

According to what was expressed by the company, this model allows offering customers air transport results with the prices of land transport.

Trucksters remains in a phase of expansion and evolution

After a 2021 where they opened their first international delegations in Greece, Germany and Belgium, Trucksters is now setting its sights on Italy and the Netherlands, where it hopes to open new delegations this year. Since 2020, the startup has been successfully running routes between Spain and different parts of Europe, thanks to its truck relay system.

Currently, Trucksters owns a staff of 82 drivers working exclusively for the company, as well as a fleet of 130 trucks which is expected to increase to 300 by the end of the year, according to the startup’s own plans that have already been launched.
