Youtube is putting all its efforts into taking care of its creators and helping them improve their conditions within the platform, in order to encourage the generation of content. And, one of its initiatives has focused precisely on generating a new way for creators to buy music to use in their videos: music creator.
Creator Music brings copyrighted music closer to creators
One of the key points when creating a good video and giving it a soul is music, an element that, due to licenses and rights, can be difficult to manage. Until now, a content creator had to be careful with the melodies you selected for your videos, opting for royalty-free music if he didn’t want to have problems with the platform. Now, Creator Music is presented as the alternative we neededsince it allows us to obtain the same revenue share that we would obtain without using music in the videos.
This novelty is a space integrated within YouTube Studio, which will allow the use of music with rights and maintain the monetization capacity of our videos. Creator Music offers a vast and ever-growing catalog of music and two options for accessing it:
- Purchase of the license: don’t be alarmed, you won’t have to sell a kidney. Or at least that’s what YouTube assured in the presentation of this new tool, assuring that YouTube Creator Music licenses will be available at affordable prices and the pieces you’ll find will be of great quality.
- Do not buy, but share income: There is the possibility of not acquiring the license in advance, however, the creator will have to share the income generated by their video with the artist and the holders of the rights associated with the song.
Likewise, finding the perfect song will be easier. Creators will be able to search for the songs they want to use or make a filtering search based on the money they can invest in your project. Also, the terms of purchase and the rights will be explained in a simple wayso that any user can understand them.
For now Creator Music is in beta in the US. and its launch is planned for the end of autumn, but it is expected to reach more countries in 20223.
