A way to reduce the pressure on users when posting on Instagram

Instagram is a social network where the image that is given to other users and the consequent approval of the community, are the most relevant factors. For this reason, as we mentioned at the beginning, it could be strange to be located in the feed and not see the count of likes, which shows how much impact a publication has had.

According to Mosseri, this implementation arises as a way to reduce the pressure on users when posting on Instagram. This pressure is not an issue that stands out only in this social network, although due to its primarily visual nature, it is much more pressing.

The images published on Instagram are taken as the user’s cover letter, and subject to public opinion that can be both positive and negative. Consequently, it has become urgent to maintain an image in accordance with the standards that govern this platform, in order to keep these opinions on the positive side. This has been proven, it can affect users both physically and mentally.

Well, not only can it deepen their self-esteem, but they can even present a physical risk, as in the case of in Youtube. In this way, the idea that users exercise more control over the approval of their content could promote a healthier environment.
