We use Google daily for almost everything and we all, to a greater or lesser extent, know how to get the most out of it. But… how did it come about? Who were the creators of Google? The Internet giant also has its story… and we are going to tell you about it.
The beginning: the first steps of Larry Page and Sergei Brin
It all started there around the year 1997 (It seems like a thing from Prehistory, right?), when two unknown Larry Page and Sergei Brin registered the Google.com domain. At the time it was a simple doctoral thesis by two Stanford students who had met a couple of years earlier. But a year later that project would already be available on the web. It was a project that sought to help users find what they needed from a sea of giant information on the Internet.
The origin of the name? It comes from a play on words with the term “” , coined by Milton Sirotta, nephew of the American mathematician Edward Kasner to refer to the number represented by a 1 followed by 100 zeros. Why that term? It seems that the term reflected the challenge of the creators of Google to organize that immense mass of information.
The first investment received by the creators of Google: 100,000 dollars
Working in the garage at home or in the bedroom as a data center and office was not recommended, although it was the infrastructure they were used to. But it was time to look for investors to finance the new technology. It was not easy for the creators of Google since they ran into the refusal of numerous portals but with their business plan under their arms, they got down to work in the search and capture.
Luck came hand in hand, one of the founders of Sun Microsystems. The amount? $100,000 in the name of Google Inc.
The first office arrived in California and shortly after, in 1999, they had already achieved $25 million of two large investors: Sequoia Capital and Kleiner Perkins Caufiled & Buyers.
It seems that it turned out to be a well-constructed formula because during the following years Google became popular and began its growth continuously and without pause. On September 21, 1999, the beta version disappeared to become Google as we know it today.

And so it came in the year 2000, the system that we all know and through which websites can make a profit from the sale of advertising space. Without a doubt, it marked a milestone in the company and helped the company a lot to make the service it offered profitable.
One more year and image search was born in 2001. Users could (and can) carry out a search and obtain images as results.
